My Foundation Routine

I am going to do a short entry about products I use for my foundation routine. Over the years my foundation routine has changed slightly, simply because I was experimenting with different products. This trial and error process is a definite must when you want to master this part of your makeup.  You have to see what products work for skin, and ones that are not such a good fit.

Tip: Make sure that you cleanse the face and take off all your makeup for at least 8 hours. Your skin needs time to breathe! I sometimes on a lazy day may go without makeup for 24 hours just to give my skin a break from having product on it.

The products I use for my foundation routine:

MAC -Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer  in NW45

Make Up Forever – Mat Velvet foundation in 75 (Coffee)

MAC- Studio Fix Powder in NW 43

How do I achieve a flawless foundation?

1.       Make sure the skin is clean and moisturized before applying any products.

2.       I place MAC -Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer  in NW45 underneath the eyes to cover dark circles , around the mouth, and also apply the concealer on any spots or blemishes. I usually do this with my fingers to get the product in small areas.

3.       Next apply Make Up Forever – Mat Velvet foundation in 75 (Coffee). If you have oily skin this product is a miracle! I use a foundation brush to apply this all over the face. Make sure you blend the product very well to avoid streaks and uneven tone.

4.       Using a big fluffy powder brush apply MAC- Studio Fix Powder in NW 43 all over the face to set your foundation and concealer. Now you have achieved a beautiful flawless foundation.

Tip: To achieve a little extra glow to the skin add MAC’s “Fix +” to your foundation routine. After you set your foundation with powder spray this product 10 to 12 inches away from the face to have a beautiful dewy look.
